123/365 plastic vase

Office Depot had these very interesting flat, plastic vases for $1.00. I figured I ought to try one out for that price. They actually work quite well and require minimal storage space when not containing a bouquet. I think I made a good purchase on this one.

114/365 50 years

My brother-in-law turned 50 this year. My sister made him the cutest, colorful cake.

113/365 intentional spill

I needed an image of a spilled soda for a newsletter article. When I searched stock photography, I could find spilled milk, spilled wine, spilled water, but no spilled soda. So I staged my own.

111/365 dead

Note to self:

When you need to reset the clock on your stereo in the van and you go out in the driveway to do that, you should not leave the keys in the ignition and in the on position and then get out and lock the doors and go in the house and forget the whole thing until the next day when you try to leave but can't find your keys, only to discover that they're not only IN the van, but the ignition switch has now been on for the past 20 hours or so.

Cause if you do? Your battery will be deader than dead.

But you will be happy that your husband has a battery charger.

Oh, and you'll also have to not only reset the clock on the stereo, but you'll also need to reset all your station presets.

110/365 more speedlite practice

You know when you have a Speedlite to play with, you take pictures of just about anything.

Or maybe that's just me.

107/365 lens practice

I began to notice that I wasn't getting clear images with my 50mm lens. So I did some testing. I shot this still life of chili and a $5.00 bill. Over and over and over again. Auto focus. Manual focus. Pop the card out, upload the pix and look closely. Ditto with my 18-270mm Tamron. The Tamron had clearer, better focused images. Now the Tamron's a nice lens, but it shouldn't do a better job than a prime, right?

I took the lens to the camera store and discovered that it had been damaged. The mount and the focus ring were cockeyed. So not cool.

Praise God I was able to get a replacement.

In the meantime, I had about 50 shots of chili & a $5.00 bill.

106/365 cracked

My aunt and uncle gave us a set of 8 of these cups for a wedding gift - nearly 25 years ago. All eight have survived all those years. Until now.

I made the mistake of hugging my son while I had a cup of soda in my hand. When he brought his arm back down and I brought my arm back, we collided, throwing Cherry Dr Pepper across the kitchen as the cup hit on the edge as it landed on our tile floor.

Sad face.

90/365 shopping bag

No matter how much you beg, plead, and grovel, Trader Joe's just won't move into the Colorado market. Which is SO frustrating. I mean, really, come on TJs, there are SO many people here who love you and would totally shop at your store. Sigh. The best it gets is having a groovy shopping bag.

10/365 embossed fish

I used to be a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! many years ago. Early on, we had some fun using scraps of wallpaper to stamp and emboss upon. This paper was the perfect water background, so I stamped a fishy scene on it, blued it around a small, empty Pringles can, and voila! I had a new pen/pencil cup. Cute, don't you think?

9/365 blinding

Why?

Why on earth do I keep such things?

I found it while cleaning off my desk. So I promptly took a picture of it and threw it away.

Don't stare into the light too long. It might be dangerous.

344-365 tiny pen

My sister was looking for something in her purse and discovered this pen. It seems to be missing something.
