Shifting Gears

I started this blog because I wanted to post pictures without feeling the need to explain them. Unless I felt like explaining. Then I joined in the 365 Project fray back in 2009. I didn't make it the entire year. In 2010, I gimped through the year - caught up for awhile, falling behind, then catching back up. I did finish out the year and jumped into it for 2011. Things went the same way - caught up, behind, caught up, behind. Well, the Mommytography 365 Project was stopped earlier this year, but I thought I'd finish the year out anyway.

But that hasn't panned out so well. Unfortunately, it becomes a bit of a legalistic issue - I feel like I can't post any new photos until I catch up, but if I don't have time to catch up, nothing gets posted.

So I've decided to bag the whole project. This will go back to being the photoblog it was in the beginning. I'll just post photos when I want to, with or without explanations.

So without further ado, a picture. Just because.




The Mommytography 365 Project ended earlier this year. I had intended to keep up my 365 Project anyway.

205/365 ren faire

One of my son's friends had his birthday party at the Renaissance Festival this year. So yours truly had the pleasure of creating an outfit for said son. Other than the belt, I made the entire costume. I was actually quite pleased with how it turned out and he was very happy with it as well. They had a blast - 5 teenage boys having the time of their life amidst swords and other weaponry. The birthday boy came home with a very nice sword, in fact.

204/365 a bird in the mirror

You'll have to look closely, but there's a bird flying in place (sort of hummingbird style) in front of the mirror on this truck. It kept landing on a tiny ledge and then flapping its wings like crazy to stay in place. Not sure if it was interested in a long-lost cousin in the mirror or just liked its own reflection, but it was sure entertaining to watch.

It had been so hot all the time that we didn't feel much like eating. So we decided snacks would work, as long as they were fairly healthy snacks, right?
