40/365 daily beauty

This is not a photograph that was taken to employ my photography knowledge. In fact, I don't think I gave much thought to white balance, ISO, lighting, f-stops, composition, or anything else.


I took it because it's a part of the daily beauty in my life.


It's so easy to take things for granted. I'm working at not doing that quite so much. One thing that I'm more apt to take notice of is how absolutely beautiful it is to live in Colorado Springs. Having grown up here, I forget that not everyone has amazing mountains in their view, almost every day. I'm still captured when I see the Rockies, Pikes Peak in particular, from various angles, depending upon what part of town I'm in. So even though there are buildings and businesses and traffic and power lines, this is a part of what always appears on the horizon of my day.

I'm always blown away by the depths of blue in our skies and our mountains. God is a remarkable Artist and Creator.

I love that even a basic trip up the interstate includes such gorgeous scenery.

I must apologize; the quality of this shot isn't so great. But when you see a lovely nightscape and only have a point in shoot in your purse, you get what you can. It would've been nice to have my Rebel and tripod, but such is life.

It's SOOC, btw, no post-processing.
