73/365 settlers

It's no secret that we LOVE Settlers of Catan and its many expansions around here. They came out with a new game, Settlers of America, which we also now love.

It's also much more fun than the temperature texting game. Bwahahaha!!!

72/365 temperature game

Pam & I have a new game we play these days. She lives in South Dakota. You know, the Land of Too Much Cold? We take photos of our car thermometers and text them to each other, either to show how ridiculously cold it is or amazingly warm it is. Yeah, I know, you can hardly wait to start your own game with a friend who lives someplace else. Cause it sounds so exciting. Right?

Ha! Ha! Ha!

She says I'm mean when I take pictures of 70 degree temperatures when it's snowing and 30s in SD. I keep telling her to move to Colorado. But something about her little twin grandsons keeps her put. They are cute, so I suppose I understand.

That's me and my hubby up front, my mom, dad, sister, and brother-in-law in the back. This is how we dress when play Loaded Questions. We love playing Loaded Questions. Much laughter ensues.

243-365 perplexed

This is one crazy puzzle/maze/ball/thing! You have a tiny metal ball that you have to maneuver through the entire track, turning the ball as you go, because sometimes the ball goes on the bottom of the previous track. Pretty wild, but my son managed to get through it fairly quickly. Of course, if you fall off the track, you have to start all over again.

I guess wars are complicated.

If you've ever played Risk, just imagine that game on exponential steroids. Or something like that. This is definitely not for the feint of heart. Nor for those with short attention spans.

I actually had to write all the steps of each turn on the white board so I could remember what I was supposed to do. There are a lot of them. They fall out the colander holes.

108-365 seafarers

We just love Settlers of Catan around here. Awhile back we picked up the Cities & Knights expansion, which has been a total blast. Saturday, my son purchased the Seafarers expansion, and now we get to have even more fun with ships and water and gold hexes.

365-22 settlers

We LOVE playing Settlers of Catan. It's such a wonderfully fun game of strategy and chance. There are a number of expansions (adding more resources to the game) and extensions (to increase the number of players). We're planning to pick up the Cities & Knights expansion hopefully soon.

I'm finding a lot of other families out here in the blogosphere who enjoy this game, too. Do any of you have expansions? If so, what do you like?
