show me: my kitchen

Today's entry for Robert's "Show Me" photo theme is My Kitchen. Aesthetically speaking, I'm not terribly fond of my current kitchen. Dark brown tile and cupboards. Busy orange and green wallpaper. Busy brown/gold on the floor. None would have been my own personal choice. But we're renting for now. I haven't really had a choice.

Practically speaking, my kitchen ROCKS! It's the biggest kitchen I have EVER had. I have some 14 drawers, 2 lazy little sisters lazy susans, 2 enormous cupboards - one above and one below the oven, something like 17-18 full-sized cupboard doors, plus another 6 or so smaller cupboard doors. Along with all this cupboard space, I have mucho counter space. What an enormous blessing when I'm cooking, baking, and just bringing in the groceries. I've had 3-4 ladies helping prepare Thanksgiving dinner, each with her own counter space. Totally awesome.

As excited as I am about moving, I will miss this enormous kitchen - from a functional perspective. There are definitely no plans to add orange and green wallpaper.

Cupboards, cupboards, cupboards. They're not all stuffed full. Such a luxury.



There are five of these globes on the light fixture. Also a switch that turns off part of them, some of them, or all of them. Sort of like a dimmer, only not.



Interesting woodwork. It kind of grows on you, er me. The wallpaper escaped into the dining room. The light? It's a reflection in the dining room window. While it's not the kitchen per se, they're connected. By wallpaper. And dark wood.



This floor can be UBER dirty and it never shows. Such camouflage is a blessing and a curse. Okay, mostly a curse. Especially if you walk in with bare feet.
